Movie Trivia:

Nick Nolte and Kurt Russell were considered for the role of Han Solo in "Star Wars". Harrison Ford was not originally  considered because George Lucas did not like to use actors he had cast in previous films. Ford had played the role of Bob Falfa in Lucas' "American Graffiti".

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was originally developed by Nia Vardalos as a one person stage show. Rita Wilson (Mrs. Tom Hanks) saw the show and approached Tom about making it into a movie. According to the story, Vardalos hung up on Hanks when he called about the idea because she didn't believe that it was really him.

Real life Apollo 13 astronaut, Jim Lovell, can be seen in the movie as the Captain of the aircraft carrier, Iwo Jima as his character played by Tom Hanks makes his way through the crowd of sailors after returning from their harrowing mission.

Austin , TX  radio personality 'Cactus' Pryor has appeared in two John Wayne films. He played Collier in "The Green Berets" and Chance's doctor in Hellfighters, both released in 1968. By the way, his first name is Richard.

Stewart Granger's real name was James Stewart and James Stewart's real name was James Stewart.

At the end of the 1959 film "Operation Petticoat" a child actor who plays Tony Curtis' son, greets Cary Grant with "Good morning Mr. Grant" instead of his character's name Admiral Sherman. This mistake can clearly be heard on the film.

And speaking of mistakes and Cary Grant; in "North by Northwest" when Eva Marie Saint pulls a gun to shoot Grant, a boy sitting at a table in the background can be seen putting his fingers in his ears before she fires, even though he is not facing her.

The tight blue dress worn by Sandra Bullock in "Miss Congeniality" as she emerged from the hangar was made entirely of rubber bands and could be held in the palm of her hand.

Movie Recommendation:

If you have not seen it, take a look at "Dancer, Texas pop. 81". It is an excellent family movie.

Coming Attractions:

Watch for "Timeline" directed by Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon, Superman, Maverick). The book by Michael Crichton was outstanding. Its a time travel book/movie that has current day researchers traveling back to 14th century France to retrieve one of their colleagues. It is scheduled for a July release date.
