Has anyone seen Shrek 2? I hear it is just as good as the first one. Please post a review. |

Finally beat my way through the munchkins to catch Shrek 2. I have to preface these comments with the announcement that I am not a big fan of animated movies for kids but I went to see what all the hoopla was about. This was a very clever, funny, cutting edge movie which features our favorite heroes in familiar adventures. You might call it "Cinderella" meets "Meet the Parents". Even though the first half-hour is a little slow, there are plenty of adventures along the way. Best character is close between the donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas). Banderas has great timing and the cat is a hoot.
Aside from the heartwarming story, I really enjoyed the sight gags and inside jokes found in many of the scenes. It will encourage you to watch again...and again...and again.
It is rare that a sequel is as good as the original. Shrek 2 meets that standard, and maybe exceeds it.
